Canada’s wood pellet manufacturers are creating jobs and economic opportunities in communities across the country. By increasing the value created from each tree harvested, we are supporting sustainable use of our forest resources as well as maximizing jobs and opportunities.
One key focus area for Canadian pellet producers is increasing the economic ties with Indigenous partners. Reconciliation with Indigenous Nations is a central priority in Canada, and with respect to the forest sector, this creates opportunities for Indigenous peoples to fully participate and lead in our industry.
One such example, is a partnership between PacBio and the Nazko First Nation, to restore a forest destroyed by fire.
